These photographs made it into the final round of the Documentary Family Awards in March 2019. I almost did not enter them at all, but a dear and loing time friend Carly Olmstead, natural soap maker at www.maevanaturals.com encouraged me to submit.
You cannot imagine my excitement and heart palpitation when I saw them flash on the screen during live judging. I totally agreed with the judges comments. Also the photo series category is incredibly tough because there are just some really outstanding photographers documenting amazing stories and concepts that astound me.
In the meantime, I am looking forward to photographing another birth rather soon.
